We just got this awesome 2019 Bordeaux in stock, and it comes with a huge score as well! Bordeaux is one of my favorite regions for wine and I especially love the wines from Pomerol.
Pomerol is on the right bank of the Gironde River and the wines from this region are usually Merlot based. They tend to be more elegant and softer than their left bank Cabernet based counterparts. The 2019 vintage is looking to be an excellent vintage for Bordeaux as well.
The Chateau Bonalgue Pomerol was given a 97-point rating from James Suckling. Here is how he describes this wine, "Wow. This shows so much intensity, with black-olive, blackberry, meat and earth aromas. It’s full-bodied and very layered with power and generosity, yet it’s not overdone. Harkens back to the great vintages of the 1950s. 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc. Try after 2027."
This is not only 97 points, but it is also under $50! This is a great wine not just to have with a delicious steak dinner, but you could easily age this for 10+ years! Bordeaux is extremely age worthy and this wine is no exception. If you are looking for a wine that you can buy a case of and enjoy every few years to see how it is changing, then this is a great option. I highly recommend getting your hands on some before its gone!
