We just scored a cache of some high scoring wines from a top Washington state producer at closeout prices for no good reason. These are some really exotic, wild, interesting bottles for sure. Some can age for a decade or more easily.
They're all great deals but be sure to get some of the first one before it's gone. That's a crazy price for a 98 point wine. Some of them are rated by the now independent critic Jeb Dunnuck. Jeb used to write for The Wine Advocate (Robert Parker) before telling Bobby and his new overlords sayonara. His specialty is Rhone varietals so he really knows his stuff here.
K Vintners 'The Beautiful' Syrah 2015 [Sold out] $29.99 compare at $60 4 cases available
98 Points Wine Advocate
"Co-fermented with 3% Viognier, the 2015 Syrah The Beautiful is fabulous, bursting from the glass with exotic aromas of violets, blackberries, panforte, black olives and lychee nuts (fanciful though that mélange sounds). On the palate, it's full-bodied, velvety and lavishly textural, cutting a broad swath across the palate, with a deep core of dark fruit and pungent savory nuance, concluding with a fine-grained, mouthwateringly sapid finish. It's a compelling Syrah that brooks no argument."
K Vintners 'Roma' Cabernet Syrah 2014 $29.99 compare at $53 3 cases available
94 Points Wine Spectator
"Deftly combines refinement with muscle, offering expressive black cherry and crushed stone aromas and deeply structured plum, roasted herb and spice flavors that finish with big, polished tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Best from 2019 through 2025."
K Vintners 'Powerline' Syrah 2015 [Sold out] $29.99 compare at $48 only 10 bottles available
98 Points Jeb Dunnuck
"Made from 100% Syrah, the 2015 Syrah Powerline Vineyard is much more backward, brooding, and mineral-laced, with sensational notes of blackcurrants, cassis, crushed rock, and tapenade. A true powerhouse on the palate, with terrific concentration, building tannin, and a great, great finish, it's a singular, incredible wine that does everything right. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following decade."
K Vintners 'The Deal' Syrah 2015 $24.99 compare at $40 3 cases available
95 Points Jeb Dunnuck
"All from the Sundance Vineyard on the Wahluke Slope, the 2015 Syrah The Deal (100% Syrah, not destemmed and aged in 30% new puncheons) offers smoking notes of red and black fruits, black olive, smoked earth and a huge meatiness. Full-bodied, silky and seamless, with a rock, mineral, backward style.
K Vintners 'MCK' Syrah 2015 $24.99 compare at $37 2 cases available
94 Points Jeb Dunnuck
"The 2015 Syrah Motor City Kitty Old Field Boushey Vineyard comes all from this site (planted by Brennon and Dick Boushey in 2007) in 2015 and will come from this site going forward. The site is 8 acres consisting of Phelps, 383, 174 clones that are all co-fermented in concrete uprights. It offers crazy notes of smoke tobacco, charcoal, ripe black cherries, currants, and pepper. With medium to full-bodied richness, a lively, pure, pretty style on the palate, and fine tannin, it should put on weight with 2-3 years of bottle age and keep for a decade."
