Just bottled, the 100% varietal 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon has a juicy, fruit-forward, delicious style as well as notes of ripe black cherries, tobacco, and leafy herbs. With plenty of fruit, ripe tannins, and loads to love, drink it over the coming 5-7 years.

Known by locals as
"The Burn"...

...the region home to Borne of Fire wines earned its name after the annual blazes set upon its fields by early agricultural settlers. As a nod to its namesake, we set one final, commemorative burn to the land before our grapes took root.

Located in the southwest corner of the Columbia Valley, The Burn sees one of the longest and warmest growing seasons in the state. With soil rich in clay, fierce winds, and the Columbia River rushing by its side, The Burn quickly found its calling as an unparalleled wine growing region.

TASTING NOTES

“Borne of Fire epitomizes the terroir of The Burn. This rugged, yet elegant wine leads with herbal expressive aromas laced with pomegranate and stony minerals. Upon tasting the wine, powdery tannins frame flavors of cherry, currant, savory spice, and red pepper. A green coffee inflected finish rounds out the overall experience.”  – Juan Muñoz Oca, Winemaker

"A sappy wine that is made on stalks, which delivers a lighter and more lacy feel that’s counterintuitive. The fruit sits in a redcurrant and red-plum zone with a light, lithe and fresh style. Cabernet re-imagined. Drink now." - James Suckling
