The winter of 2018 was mild and dry, with no snow and rainfall. It was followed by a very rainy and cold spring. An unusual heatwave occurred at the end of April with temperatures as high as 30°C which led to an early bud break. Rain and below average temperatures continued through April, May, and June, slowing the entire growing season (1300 mm of rain from March to June). Between May 1 and June 14, it rained consistently for 24 days making our effort in the vineyards remarkably intense and complicated. Nevertheless, our full-time team was able to overcome the challenges of downy and powdery mildew. A bad hailstorm unfortunately hit Barbaresco on Sunday, July 17 resulting in a loss of 30% of the overall production. September 2018 was sunny, fresh, and windy, with no drastic changes in temperature from day to night, allowing the grapes to continue to ripen. The harvest started at the end of August with Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Due to the humid and mild vintage, Nebbiolo harvest was expected to be delayed however, two hot weeks in mid-September made the grapes ripen faster, shortening picking times. The harvest finished on October 8th.

We now ship FedEx to all states we ship to with the exception of PA, DE and KY (UPS). To the state of TX we use a small carrier called LSO but shut down shipments there during the summer months.
If you specify we can ship to a FedEx location to be held for pickup at no additional charge. You can search for the nearest FedEx location (no drop boxes) by clicking here and use that as your shipping address. Most Walgreens locations will now hold wine orders for you (state of LA excluded). They will come up in the search results at www.fedex.com/locate if that service is available to you.

Shipping wine around the country is very expensive. We charge about a third less than what it actually costs us. If you need to return your order (or if the wine gets returned back to us because you were unable to receive it after 3 attempts and you didn't email us to make other arrangements), we need to collect a return shipping fee that is up to double the amount of the shipping you paid. Upon receiving the wine back we will refund for the wine minus the initial shipping cost. In the event that we make a mistake we work with you to fix whatever went wrong at no additional cost to you.
