Bila-Haut by Michel Chapoutier r.i. Cotes du Roussillon Villages 2015 - 750ml
98 Points Wine Advocate
As always, the 100% Syrah 2015 Cotes du Roussillon Villages Lesquerde Rectificando Invenies (Ri) shows more minerality than the VIT release and offers blockbuster styled aromas and flavors of blackcurrants, crushed rocks, toasted bread and chocolate. Made in a voluptuous, pedal-to-the-metal style, with huge fruit and texture, it has building tannin and an uber sexy, incredibly layered and decadent palate. Drink it anytime over the coming decade. This cuvee was completely destemmed and aged 18 months in demi-muids (600L barrels) then the last six months in concrete tanks to completely polish the tannins, while preserving freshness and smoothness, before bottling.
Located in the Lesquerde district, an area in the department where the grapes are last to ripen, the vineyard parcel lies on a gentle, north-facing slope; very infertile, granite, ferrous soil, predominantly gravely on top.
100% Syrah; among the first planted in the “department” and above all among the rare few to be grown using the Goblet pruning method with individual stakes. Hand-picked at the correct maturity in early October. The yield is low, below 20hl/ha.
Adult signature will be required at time of delivery.

Shipping wine around the country is very expensive. We charge about a third less than what it actually costs us. If you need to return your order (or if the wine gets returned back to us because you were unable to receive it after 3 attempts and you didn't email us to make other arrangements), we need to collect a return shipping fee that is up to double the amount of the shipping you paid. Upon receiving the wine back we will refund for the wine minus the initial shipping cost. In the event that we make a mistake we work with you to fix whatever went wrong at no additional cost to you.
