Basilio Izquierdo 'B de Basilio' RIoja 2008 - 750ml

$ 51.00

93 Points Wine Advocate

"The 2008 B de Basilio Izquierdo red blends Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano from different regions within Rioja. It is fermented with its natural yeast and aged for a year in French barrels (Basilio was educated in Bordeaux and has a big Bordeaux influence) and is extremely aromatic, open and perfumed, with notes of pomegranate and blood oranges. The palate is very balanced, with good acidity, wood perfectly integrated, flavors of ripe acid fruits and a very long finish. A great compromise between modernity and tradition, which is evolving very slowly. Drink 2014-2020.

Basilio Izquierdo is one of those anonymous heroes: few people know his name, but many would know his wines. He was the winemaker at CVNE from 1974 until 2006. In 2007 he started a very small personal project, purchasing grapes from selected vineyards, almost as a hobby, where he’s producing small quantities of both reds (5,000 bottles) and whites (2,000 bottles)."

If you need to return your order (or if the wine gets returned back to us because you were unable to receive it after 3 attempts and you didn't email us to make other arrangements), we need to collect a return shipping fee that is up to double the amount of the shipping you paid. Upon receiving the wine back we will refund for the wine minus the initial shipping cost. In the event that we make a mistake we work with you to fix whatever went wrong at no additional cost to you.
