Colene Clemens Dopp Creek Pinot Noir 2019 - 750ml
Located where the Chehalem Mountains converge with Ribbon Ridge, our 122-acre property was acquired in 2005 and first planted in 2006. With an elevation of 350 to 650 feet, this rocky, south-facing hillside is composed of marine sedimentary and volcanic basalt soils. Completely dry-farmed, our 62-acre vineyard consists of five different clones: Wädenswil, Pommard, Dijon 115, Dijon 114, Dijon 667, and Dijon 777.
Our farming practices can best be described as sustainable, and we utilize organic farming whenever possible. We are firm believers in taking care of our soil, practicing crop reduction for low yields, and hand harvesting our fruit at its optimal physiological ripeness.
Winemaking: 2019 was reminiscent of classic Oregon vintages, with very few heat spikes throughout the summer. Harvest commenced on September 21st and continued through October 1st under cool and dry conditions. Once in the winery, the fruit was 100% destemmed into small stainless steel tanks and began a 4—5 day cold soak. Following this, tanks were gently warmed, and fermentation by indigenous yeast began and continued for 10-14 days. Throughout primary fermentation, the tanks were gently punched down by hand twice daily. Once fermentation was complete, the wine remained in tank for 5-7 days of extended maceration, after which it was drained and the skins and seeds went to press to very gently to procure the remaining juice. Both the free-run juice and pressed juice went directly to barrel without settling. After aging for 11 months in 15% new, 29% 1 year, 38% 2 year, 16% 3 year, and 4% 4 year old French oak barrels, the wine was then blended and bottled in December of 2019.

Shipping wine around the country is very expensive. We charge about a third less than what it actually costs us. If you need to return your order (or if the wine gets returned back to us because you were unable to receive it after 3 attempts and you didn't email us to make other arrangements), we need to collect a return shipping fee that is up to double the amount of the shipping you paid. Upon receiving the wine back we will refund for the wine minus the initial shipping cost. In the event that we make a mistake we work with you to fix whatever went wrong at no additional cost to you.
