Freemark Abbey Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley 2019 - 750ml
The wine opens with aromas of honeydew melon, mandarin, lemongrass, and peach. The palate is fresh and vibrant with flavors of cantaloupe, apricot, tangerine and white floral notes. The finish has plenty of minerality and viscosity which makes it great on its own or paired with a variety of fresh, seasonal spring and summer dishes.
The history of Freemark Abbey began in 1886, when Josephine Marlin Tychson became the first woman to build and operate a winery in California. The historic site where Josephine's winery, Tychson Cellars, once stood is now known as Freemark Abbey.
Freemark Abbey Wilson Ranch—St. Helena (64%): Rich clay loam adjacent to the Napa River.
Oakville Vineyard—Oakville (14%): Predominantly a rich clay loam that supports healthy vineyards. This vineyard is home to the Semillon component of the blend.
Yount Mill Vineyard—Yountville (12%): An organically farmed vineyard located in the heart of the Yountville Appellation, west of the Napa River. The soil is a rich clay loam, producing grapes with typical varietal character flavors of honeydew melon with some citrus notes, lemon grass and a sweet nuance of fresh cut grass.
Trubody Vineyard—Yountville (10%): This vineyard is our southernmost of the group in Yountville located near the Napa River. It is the source of our Sauvignon blanc musque clone that has floral, tropical fruit and citrus notes.
Abundant and later than usual rains marked the winter leading up to the 2019 season. This provided good soil moisture to set a normal size crop with plenty of vigor. The growing season was near perfect with moderate daytime temperatures and evening marine influences, creating ideal ripening conditions. Harvest began shortly after Labor Day with our Sauvignon blanc grapes. The wines are fresh, fruit driven and vibrant, indicative of a hallmark and classically balanced.
Aging: Stainless steel tanks and neutral French oak for 5 months

Shipping wine around the country is very expensive. We charge about a third less than what it actually costs us. If you need to return your order (or if the wine gets returned back to us because you were unable to receive it after 3 attempts and you didn't email us to make other arrangements), we need to collect a return shipping fee that is up to double the amount of the shipping you paid. Upon receiving the wine back we will refund for the wine minus the initial shipping cost. In the event that we make a mistake we work with you to fix whatever went wrong at no additional cost to you.
