Hanzell Pinot Noir Sonoma Valley 2015 - 750ml

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"Pale ruby-purple colored, the 2015 Pinot Noir leaps from the glass with gregarious kirsch, fresh raspberries and wild strawberry scents with touches of rose hip tea, lavender, cinnamon stick, underbrush and dried herbs. The medium-bodied palate possesses bags of finesse and wonderful vibrancy, with the perfumed red fruit well framed by fine-grained tannins and great freshness, finishing on a lingering floral tea note."

Ambassador James D. Zellerbach founded Hanzell Vineyards in 1953 with a vision to create wines that could compete on the world stage.  Named after his wife Hana, Hanzell sits at the southern toe of the Mayacamas mountain range overlooking the south-western end of Sonoma Valley and San Pablo Bay.  After extensive time spent in Burgundy, Zellerbach returned inspired and educated by the region’s wines and grapes—Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.  He then planted these two varieties at a time when there were less than a few hundred acres of each planted in North America.  Since 1975, Hanzell has been solely owned by the de Brye family, who is dedicated to the preservation of tradition with a progressive and holistic approach which will ensure the sustainability for generations to come.

Winemaker's Notes

“The inviting and forward fruity aromas of  black cherry, pomegranate, plum and orange peel are complemented by notes of clove, pipe tobacco, bay leaf and rose petal. The flavors which echo the aromas are broad and intense with copious fruit on the mid-palate and a seamless, silky texture. While there is all the balance and concentration to amply reward cellaring, this wine is flat out delicious now.”              - Michael McNeill

Shipping wine around the country is very expensive. We charge about a third less than what it actually costs us. If you need to return your order (or if the wine gets returned back to us because you were unable to receive it after 3 attempts and you didn't email us to make other arrangements), we need to collect a return shipping fee that is up to double the amount of the shipping you paid. Upon receiving the wine back we will refund for the wine minus the initial shipping cost. In the event that we make a mistake we work with you to fix whatever went wrong at no additional cost to you.
