Jordan Chardonnay Russian River Valley 2018 - 750ml
“While 2018’s aromas are true to our style of Chardonnay, the fruit intensity is so incredible, the scents of apple and citrus are practically jumping out of the glass.” —Maggie Kruse, winemaker
The Jordan Vineyard & Winery Cabernet continues to be one of Sonoma County's top performers since its debut 1976 vintage. Jordan wines are made in a more European style that allows them to pair well with a broad range of foods. Winemaking decisions emphasize the wine’s fruit and acidity rather than alcohol and tannin, and achieving elegance and balance in the bottle drives all that Jordan does in the vineyards and cellar. More than three-quarters of the 1,200 acres that surround the Jordan Winery Chateau remain wild, open spaces that myriad animals and plants call home. Preserving natural habitat and conserving resources are two tenets in sustainability efforts. The winery runs almost entirely on solar energy, and the vineyards and winery are certified sustainable.
A highly anticipated vintage since the beginning of the growing season, the 2018 is one of the most delicious Chardonnays our Russian River Valley vineyards have ever produced.
Vineyards: 11 vineyard blocks from five growers.
Fermentation: Clusters destemmed and gently pressed at night to extract freshness and acidity while avoiding astringent phenolic character from the skins. Inoculated and fermented 13 days in 54% new French oak barrels and 46% in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation limited to only 12% to ensure that aromas were not masked by a buttery component.
Selection: Double-sorting of grapes; many press cuts to preserve the free-run juice’s pure flavors.
Sur Lie: Five weeks of sur-lie aging (in both stainless steel and barrel) and bâttonage to bring a touch of creaminess to the mid-palate.
Cooperages: French oak barrels from six coopers were chosen based on grain tightness, low tannin potential and light toast levels, allowing for the purity of the fruit to shine.
Aging: 5.5 months in 100% new French oak.
TA: .76 g/100ml

Shipping wine around the country is very expensive. We charge about a third less than what it actually costs us. If you need to return your order (or if the wine gets returned back to us because you were unable to receive it after 3 attempts and you didn't email us to make other arrangements), we need to collect a return shipping fee that is up to double the amount of the shipping you paid. Upon receiving the wine back we will refund for the wine minus the initial shipping cost. In the event that we make a mistake we work with you to fix whatever went wrong at no additional cost to you.
