Limerick Lane 'Rocky Knoll' Zinfandel 2014
96 Points Wine Enthusiast
"A perennial knockout, this vintage delivers as always, combining 7% Petite Sirah, Mourvèdre and Syrah from the estate into the mix. Altogether, it opens in a field of wildflowers aromatic before unfurling tart acidity to keep freshly layered soft, supple tannin and red cherry and berry. Sprinklings of white pepper and clove factor in."
94 Points Vinous
"The most massive of the Zinfandels, the 2014 Rocky Knoll exudes depth and concentration. The huge tannins and searing acidity both need time to soften, but there is plenty to like. Readers will have to be patient. This is a striking wine from Limerick Lane and Scot Bilbro. The 2014 is 92% Zinfandel and 8% Mixed Blacks. Brothers Jake and Scot Bilbro have decided to concentrate on separate properties. Jake Bilbro is now overseeing Limerick Lane on his own, while Scot is focused on Marietta, the BIlbro family's first winery. As always, the Limerick Lane wines are potent, which may be a massive understatement. The vineyard is planted with a number of different varities, but this is Zinfandel country, so it is hardly a surprise the Zinfandel-based wines are the stars in this range."
